Pre-Professional Soccer comes to York County, Maine with York County AFC
YORK COUNTY, Maine — November 11th, 2025 — Following today’s official announcement from The League for Clubs (TLfC), we are proud to share that York County AFC has been accepted into The League ahead of the 2026 season. The club will compete in the East Region, marking the beginning of a new chapter for soccer in York County and across southern Maine.
For us, this moment is more than just a milestone; it’s the realization of a vision built on belief, hard work, and community. Acceptance into The League affirms the foundation we’ve worked to create and signals that York County belongs on the national soccer stage.
We founded York County AFC with one goal: to give our county something of its own to rally behind. This club is about more than soccer. It’s about connection, belonging, and creating a place where people can come together face-to-face to celebrate something real. It’s about young players seeing a pathway close to home, families shared moments, and our communities having a common badge to unite behind.
As The League works to shape it’s new New England conference, we’re excited to be part of that growth and to represent York County with pride. The real work begins now, building a club that reflects the spirit, identity, and resilience of those of us who call this place home.
York County AFC will make our debut in 2026 creating new opportunities for players, supporters, and partners to engage with the game at a higher level locally.
