HAPPY NEW YEAR! ~ UP THE COUNTY! ~

Happy New Year, York County.

As we enter 2026, York County AFC is moving from announcement into organization. This is the year where the work of building the club truly begins. Not on the pitch yet, but behind the scenes. Not all at once, but step by step.

Thank you for being here at the start of this process.

January: An Early Stage, by Design

January is not about big reveals or finished products. It is about groundwork. The club is still in its early stages, and that is intentional. The focus right now is on putting the right pieces in place before accelerating into the spring.

At this point, York County AFC is concentrating on three things above all else:

  • Building the internal structure of the club.

  • Establishing long-term partnerships.

  • Listening before deciding.

This month is about direction, not conclusions.

York County AFC is currently building its operational backbone ahead of the inaugural season. With the club’s identity and direction established, the focus is now on assembling key leadership, finalizing foundational partnerships, and establishing the internal structure to support competition and community engagement. This phase is deliberate and demanding, but necessary, as the strength of what happens on the pitch will be determined by the work done now. At its core, this club is being built to serve and grow a stronger, more connected community across York County.

Community Input Comes First

One of the core ideas behind York County AFC is that the club should be shaped with the community, not simply presented to it. That process cannot happen without listening.

The community survey is one of the primary tools we are using to gather that input. It is not a formality. The feedback collected there will help guide decisions around:

  • Matchday experience

  • Community events

  • Supporter culture

  • Accessibility and affordability

At the moment, participation is still low. That simply means the opportunity is wide open. If you want a voice in how this club develops, now is the time to use it.

Sponsorship Outreach: Building Local Partnerships

Our sponsorship outreach continues across York County as we speak with businesses that share this club’s long-term vision. These conversations are more than transactions. They focus on shared purpose, community investment, and building something that benefits more than one organization.

We are still in the relationship-building phase. The goal is not to rush into partnerships, but to form the right ones. When those relationships are finalized, we will proudly share them with you.

If you represent a local business and want to be part of this journey from the beginning, now is the time to start that conversation.

How You Can Get Involved Right Now

Even at this early stage, there are meaningful ways to take part:

  • Follow us on social media to stay informed as updates are shared.

  • Join the email list to receive newsletters and announcements directly.

  • Complete the community survey and help shape future decisions.

  • Reach out to see how you can be a volunteer or member of our matchday staff.

  • Local businesses: Submit a sponsorship inquiry to begin a conversation.

Early involvement matters. This is the stage where direction is still flexible and input carries real weight.

Looking Ahead

January is about preparation. The months ahead will bring greater clarity, more structure, and, eventually, more public-facing milestones. For now, the focus remains on building the club carefully, responsibly, and with the community at the center of the process.

Thank you for taking the time to follow along at the very beginning.
