State of the Club

York County AFC is currently undergoing a major organizational shift as we reorganize around a 2027 inaugural season. For several months, the club had been preparing for a 2026 launch, and adjusting that timeline requires us to revisit nearly every aspect of the club’s development, from leadership structure and strategic timelines to how we engage with communities across York County. This moment calls for us to step back, recalibrate, and make sure the path forward supports the club's long-term success.

As we move forward with that work, we're assembling the leadership and support we need to guide the club. Executive Committee recruitment is underway as we begin building the organizational structure that will shape the future of York County AFC. At the same time, we are beginning to connect with people across the county who want to volunteer their time, skills, and ideas to help bring the club to life. Building York County’s club will take more than a team on the field; it will take a community behind it. We invite you to join us and help build your county club.

Letter from the Chairman

When York County AFC was first announced, the goal was never simply to launch a soccer team. The goal was to build a club that represents York County and grows into something meaningful for the communities across our county. York County deserves a club we can call our own. Building it will take all of us.

Over the past several months that work has been underway

behind the scenes. Building a club from the ground up means establishing leadership, developing partnerships, and creating the structure that will support the club both on and off the field.

Earlier this year, I shared that our inaugural season will begin in 2027 rather than 2026. This decision gives the club the time needed to build properly and establish the right foundation. Launching a new club requires leadership, partnerships, and financial support, and taking the additional time now will allow that foundation to be built the right way.

As this work continues, there is an opportunity for people across York County to help shape the club. Executive Committee recruitment is underway, and volunteers are already beginning to step forward to help bring York County’s club to life.

Anyone interested in getting involved is encouraged to reach out and be part of the effort.

Thank you to everyone who has taken an interest in the club so far. The club is beginning to take shape, and the road ahead is one worth walking together.

Up the County.

Founder & Chairman

Building the Club

The next major step in building York County AFC is assembling the Executive Committee that will help guide the club as it continues to take shape.

The committee will consist of a small group of people working closely together to support the club’s development across several key areas. Some will focus on the sporting side of the club, helping to build relationships within the local soccer community and map out the pathway toward building a roster and staff. Others will focus on the commercial side of the club, developing partnerships, memberships, and other opportunities that will help the club begin generating the resources it needs to grow. There will also be important work on the administrative side as the club prepares for kickoff.

Right now, the goal is simple. Find people who care about York County, believe in the vision for the club, and want to be part of building something from the ground up.

York County deserves a club we can call our own. The question now is, who will help build it?

Community Input

York County AFC is inviting people across the county to share their perspective.

A community survey is currently open for anyone who wants to offer ideas, feedback, or simply let the club know what they would like to see as the club develops.

If you have a few minutes, consider adding your voice. Clubs like this are shaped not only by the people running them, but by the communities that stand behind them.

Take the survey and help shape York County’s club.
